Depression Glass Display on loan at Orland Park Library-Orland Park Illinois A display of Depression Glassware is on loan with the Library for the months of March & April. It was provided by the 20-30-40s Glass Society of Illinois.
included glassware patterns consisting of: Heisey Orchid, Tiffin Pleat and Panel, Morgantown Cathay, Indiana, Anchor Hocking, Jeanette, Federal, Phoenix/Consolidated, Lancaster/Standard and Fenton Art Glass Companies.
The smaller case next to the meeting room was only 6 feet by 4 feet and consisted of 4 long shelves. I decided that this case would be great for smaller multiple piece
collections. The smaller collections consisted of one of our members personal collections of Viking Glass Birds surrounding a centerpiece of a Ruby colored Fostoria Crown Candy Dish along with a couple of my smaller collections of: glass perfume bottles, a collection of glass advertising pieces, carnival glass, and an opalescent glass bowl collection.
I concluded the second half of the presentation / lecture with a tour of the display cases and a talk about the History of the Fenton Glass Company along with a showing of a video called Glass Artistry in the Making which was produced by the Fenton Art Glass Company.
The display of glassware will be on loan with the Orland Park Library for the months of March and April. We hope that you will get a chance to stop by to view the "Rainbow of True Colors".
