News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Auction Galleries’ latest Marketplace auction, #87021, featuring Fine and Decorative Arts, Jewelry, Americana and Political Memorabilia, Rare Books and Manuscripts, Vintage Comic Books and Original Comic Art, and Celebrity, Hollywood and Entertainment Memorabilia which closed on March 1, 2007, realized $85,042 for 630 lots with 1,149 bidders participating, although after-auction sales are still ongoing and are expected to raise the final total to even higher levels.
“The Marketplace auctions allow us to offer a variety of mid-range items to our customers in an easily accessible format,” said Jim Halperin, Co-Chairman of Heritage. “It also provides a convenient way for collectors in one area to sample and explore collectible items in other areas.”
“Our Marketplace auctions utilize a unique format,” said Halperin, “in which online bidding ends two hours before the eBay Live session for each lot. After Internet bidding closes, live bidding takes place through eBay Live. This is similar to our Signature auctions, except that there’s no associated floor session; all final bids are placed through eBay Live.”
The next Marketplace auction, which is currently online at www.HA.com, will close on March 29, 2007.
