More Than McCoy purchases items that are interesting, attractive, useful, or all of the above! Vintage kitchen gadgets bring back many treasured memories for people, including me! My own mother loved to bake cookies, cakes, pies, cream puffs, etc. In fact, one of the best memories I have is of when she would bake apple pies at the holidays. She would save all the scraps of pie crust, put them into a little pie tin, and then bake me my own special little pie! What a treat that was!
So, not only are most of these gadgets collectible and functional, many customers also use them just to add visual interest in their kitchens. For example, check out Martha Stewart’s television show and her tv kitchen. She uses the large stoneware pickle crocks to arrange her spatulas, wooden spoons, meat forks, beaters, etc., which gives her kitchen a very organized look. Her tv kitchen is what I would call ‘contemporary ecclectic’. Or, check out Rachel Ray's tv show; she uses the vintage Texas Ware mixing bowls!
You too can use and display vintage kitchen gadgets whether you have modern, contemporary, country or primitive furnishings. Some suggestions for decorating with collectibles in a modern or contemporary theme, (e.g., stainless steel appliances, granite or glass countertops), would be adding vintage chrome, stainless, cast aluminum, zinc, pewter, bakelite or glass items. You can put a few of these in groupings on a shelf, in a cupboard, or atop the refrigerator. If you have country, primitive or ecclectic, you can use virtually any type of kitchen collectible, e.g., wooden ware, yellow ware, spongeware, graniteware, tinware, glassware, painted wood kitchen gadgets, copper, stoneware crocks filled with gadgets; baskets filled with gadgets; etc.
At More Than McCoy, items that are sold in assortments generally look ‘vintage’, meaning they might have some paint loss, or rust, or corrosion. The reason they are in assortment baskets, pots, or boxes is because even though they are vintage and look vintage, they still make great display items, and if you want to actually use them, they can still
