News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - FIVE CONTAINERS FROM EUROPE, WITH FURNITURE DATING BACK TO 1800, TO BE OFFERED AT FOUR SEASONS AUCTION GALLERY, NOV. 12th
(Atlanta, Ga.) – Five containers from Europe, loaded with handpicked furniture from the Netherlands, England, France, Belgium and Scandinavia, will be sold at a huge Fall Extravaganza Auction to be held November 12th by Four Seasons Auction Gallery in Atlanta. Some of the furniture pieces date back to 1800. The sale begins at 11 am.
“I visited every country in Europe I felt had the best merchandise, and the result of my finds went into those five containers,” said Steve White, president of Four Seasons Auction Gallery. “The furniture items are just outstanding, and we also came across some original oil paintings by European artists that must be seen to be appreciated.”
More than 50 original works of art will be offered. Some are by European artists, others by American artists from estate consignments. Other expected top lots include a 1963 Morgan convertible, in excellent condition; an Adams style 1880s English mahogany sideboard with brass gallery; and a Bosendorfer grand piano (circa 1890).
Also sold will be other square and grand pianos (including Steinway, Chickering, Waltham, Heintzman, Wurlitzer and more); over 40 tall case, mantel and wall clocks; sterling silver; several sets of hand-painted and Flow Blue china; a marvelous pair of Sevres urns; and a collection of antique and exotic cars.
Over 1,000 lots will come up for bid, with the five containers comprising only a portion of the day’s offerings. Two important estate consignments are also on the bill. One will feature items from the historic Hardemand-Sams home in Athens, Ga. The other is the estate of Paul and Ruby Busick, of Sandy Springs, Ga.
The Busicks accumulated so many fine pieces over the course of fifty years, their items are being spread out over eight separate sales. The inventory includes mahogany, walnut and oak furniture; garden statuary; exotic mirrors; a huge collection of art; and a truly remarkable collection of fine china, glassware and collectibles.
The auction will be held at the Four Seasons showroom in the fashionable Buckhead section of Atlanta, at 2075 Liddell Drive. After the Fall Extravaganza, the firm will immediately begin planning for a December 3rd multi-estate sale. That auction will also feature items from the Busick estate.
Four Seasons Auction Gallery is one of the premier auction galleries in north Georgia. Steve White is constantly on the hunt for quality consignments. He’ll spend over $1 million in the next 90 days to buy single pieces, entire estates and special collections.
