Boston, MA (September 22, 2006) - Live Nation is proud to be hosting a charity auction at 7:30 p.m. on November 8th at the Opera House in Boston as the finale to its successful summer-long Rock & Art program.
Rock & Art is a Live Nation program that pairs well known, local artists with national touring musicians. Founded in spring of 2006, the inaugural season took place at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA. A large-scale painting (4’ x 4’) was created for each of the headlining artists that played at the Pavilion, many of which were signed by the performers. This fall, Live Nation will host an auction at the Opera House on November 8th at which all 50 paintings will be offered for sale with proceeds benefiting local non-profit organizations: Action for Boston Community Development and Artists For Humanity.
The collection of Rock & Art paintings can be viewed at www.rockandart.org. Auction tickets are currently on-sale at www.rockandart.org/ticketinfo or by calling 617.423.6000. General admission tickets are $10.00 and VIP packages are available for $50.00. Each VIP package includes a ticket to the event, preferred seating and a VIP Pass allowing access to a private preview at 6:30 p.m. (one hour prior to regular door time). During the preview VIPs can enjoy a complimentary cocktail hour and all participating local artists will be on-site to answer any questions. VIPs will also be mailed a program guide in advance of the auction that highlights each of the paintings up for sale. Doors will open for general admission at 7:30 p.m. and program guides will be available at the door.
