Saxonville Auction Services, the Virtual Auction Hall in Framingham, MA will feature TOYS on April 15th, featuring the second half of a collection from one owner accumulated of 50 years from old toys stores, flea markets and auctions. This outstanding collection includes Marx Playsets, Doll Houses and furniture, Farm Sets, Children's Books and an incredible selection of original Victorian Britains Garden Miniatures Flowers and accessories.
Other choice selections include a Lehman Balky Mule Mint in Box, Bradleys ToyTown Post Office mint in box, and the very rare Remco Battery operated giant sized Big Caesar Roman Warship mint in the box.
This is a different kind of auction, as bids will be from left bids, phone bids and Internet bidding through the http://www.proxibid.com/ interactive auction system. You will hear the voice of the auctioneer prompting you to continue to bid online, just like being there in person. Bid from the comfort of your own home or office. The catalog will appear on proxibid.com with pictures and descriptions prior to the live preview, and Internet bidders will be able to bid in real time with fabulous "one click" bidding.
There will be a live, in-person preview on Friday April 14 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday March 15 from noon until 6:00 p.m. where interested parties can see and touch the catalogued items, and can leave Left Bids to be entered on their behalf during the real time auction. Those who are extremely interested in certain items can request to be on the phone during the sale of those items. Everyone who participated in the past auctions expressed enjoyment with the system.
There is a 10% buyers’ premium, 5% sales tax for MA residents, with pick-up available for those wishing to save on the shipping and handling expenses, and there are many lots for dealers who sell in shops or online.
The auction facility is operated by Gary Sohmers, proprietor of Wex Rex Collectibles, and frequent talk show host/guest, who also happens to appear as an appraiser in collectibles, toys, pop culture and memorabilia on the Emmy nominated PBS TV series “Antiques Roadshow.”
Saxonville Auctions will be selling Paper and Political Items on Sat. April 22nd including original art drawings by 1946 Pulitzer Prize winner Political Cartoonist Bruce Russell depicting World War Two and Cold War's fears and solutions for problems during the 1950s, these striking drawings are relevant in today’s political climate. There is also a large selection of World War One and Two Posters featuring many famous illustration artists, Undergropund newspapers of the 1960s-1970s hippie ant-war movement and campaign buttons and other items.
Also on April 22nd are 100 lots of rare non-sport trading cards from the 1960s including Lost In Space, Batman, Gilligan's Island, Addams Family, Munsters and Superman, with sets, single cards, wrappers and unopened packs.
April 29th will have another Antique and Collectible Toy sale, followed by an all Cap Gun and Toy Gun Auction on
