News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - Iola, Wis.—Krause Publications introduces Warman’s Companion, a new 5x8-inch, $17.99 reference series offering more than 1,000 photos, 272 pages and up-to-date price listings. The first two books in the series will be published in the Spring 2006 book season. Written by Mark F. Moran, the first books are “Roseville Pottery, A Warman’s Companion” and “McCoy Pottery, A Warman’s Companion.”
The Warman’s Companion series offers a highly illustrated, affordable, portable package for those collectors on-the-go. Most of the information is pulled from the earlier-released full size editions and updated. Tips for spotting forgeries and fakes is included in these first two books. The pieces found in the books are those most commonly seen at auctions and other selling outlets.
“Roseville Pottery, A Warman’s Companion” will be published in March while “McCoy Pottery” will be published in May.
Future Warman’s Companion books include “Fenton Glass” by Moran (Sept.), “Carnival Glass” by Schroy (Oct.), “Fiesta Ware” by Moran and Glen Victorey (Oct.), “U.S. Coins & Currency” by David C. Harper (Oct.) and “World Coins & Currency” by Colin R. Bruce II, Thomas Michael and Allen G. Berman (Nov.).
