News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - Iola, Wis.—Professional antique experts and appraisers will visit the Antique Trader Marketplace booth at the Spring 2006 Atlantique City Show, March 25-26, Atlantic City, N.J. These experts will appraise items, sign books, talk antiques and recommend price guides for booth visitors. The booth will be located at the back of the hall, next to the appraisal area. Watch for signs!
Of the appraisers, long-time show favorites Kyle Husfloen and Ellen Schroy will be on hand in the Marketplace to discuss the day’s antique finds, offer advice, locate specific price guides and sign their books. More guest appraisers include Caroline Ashleigh, Elyse Luray, Ray Mansfield and Carolyn Remmey. Hundreds of price guides for various antiques and collectibles and related books will be on sale at a 50 percent discount each day of the show until gone. The Friday before the show is an unofficial dealer day, and discounted books will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Other notable authors attending the show are Loy Harrell (Decoys, America’s One Hundred Greatest; Krause Publications, 2000), Dawn Herlocher (200 Years of Dolls; Krause Publications, 2005) and Rusty Herlocher (Vintage Car Wrecks; Krause Publications, 2003). Each has their own booth with books available for sale.
Husfloen is a popular columnist for Antique Trader magazine and book editor for 30-plus years. Schroy has edited Warman’s books for nearly two decades. Ashleigh is president of Caroline Ashleigh Associates in Birmingham, Mich., and an appraiser for “Antiques Roadshow” and “Antiques Roadshow FYI.” Luray is the star of the popular PBS series “History Detectives” and was an appraiser for Christie’s and “Antiques Roadshow.” Mansfield is a popular Atlantic City, N.J., personality and an established expert in antiques. Remmey is president of Remmey Antiques and Fine Art in New Vernon, N.J., and is an appraiser on “Antiques Roadshow.”
