News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - Angora, MN 1/20/05 -- After working in the solitary and frequently isolating profession of chair caning and wicker repair for over 30 years, Cathryn Peters, aka The Wicker Woman, was searching for a way to "connect" with other chair caning professionals and hobbyists.
When a previous online chair caning discussion board folded, Cathryn decided to start one of her own. Shortly thereafter, The Seatweaving and Wicker Repair Discussion Board Forum debuted in March of 2004. It's leased through Server.com, and now has roughly 40-50 "members" participating each day.
Weavers from across the country and Internationally can "connect" via this discussion board forum to find answers to their questions, offer advice, post about events, suggest new books to read, advertise new items from their cane & basket supply company, or just plain chat.
The board is open for the beginning weaver, hobbyist or professional alike. Since it is not in "real time," subscribers or members can accessed the board at any time of day, whenever convienient.
Posts and threads are in an easy-to-read format on the Forum and you can also request a daily summary to be sent to your personal email box.
