Land of Enchanting Nativities National Convention Public invited to Friends of the Creche convention to view special Southwest Christmas scene exhibits, buy Christmas related goods, and see a special Nativity play.
News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - The 3rd National Convention of Friends of the Creche takes place at La Fonda in Santa Fe, New Mexico, November 9-11, 2005. Title of the convention is \\\"Land of Enchanting Nativities\\\" and will focus on the Christmas scenes of the Southwest. It will attract over 250 collectors from all over the United States.
The public is invited to attend parts of the convention, such as a free performance of a traditional New Mexican Nativity play, \"Los Tres Reyes Magos,\" performed by the Caballeros de Vargas at the Saint Francis Auditorium at the Museum of Fine Arts on the Plaza, November 10 at 7:30 p.m., as well as buy at the \\\"Manger Mart,\\\" view an important exhibit titled \\\"Southwest Nativities A to Z,\\\" and see a Children\\\'s Art Show on the last day of the convention. Other than the play, all events take place at La Fonda.
Friends of the Creche is an organization of collectors and lovers of Christmas Nativity scenes. Their program for this convention capitalizes on the rich Southwestern tradition. Dr. Charles M. Carrillo, noted lecturer, anthropologist, and santero, or crafter of saints, is the keynote speaker.
