News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - Teletrade, an Escala
Group company (Nasdaq: ESCL), and America's largest fully-automated telephone
and Internet auction company for certified coins, recorded the largest sale in
the company's 19-year history during its two-day auction in conjunction with
the American Numismatic Association Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Show in Las
Vegas. The prices realized exceeded $1.2 million, reflecting the tremendous
growth of the company.
"On the first day of the show alone, we realized more than $735,000 in
winning bids, shattering our previous record. The two-day total was
$1,244,081 for the 3,644 lots offered in the sale. Nearly 1,300 bidders
participated, many of them taking part in a Teletrade auction for the first
time," said Ian Russell, Teletrade President. "It was an overwhelmingly
successful joint effort by Teletrade and the ANA, and there were many positive
comments from collectors, investors and dealers. We reached many new
potential bidders and consignors, and we are extremely optimistic about the
continuing strength of the rare coin marketplace."
As the Official Internet Auction of the recent ANA's Las Vegas show,
October 28 - 30, 2005, the sale featured several notable consignments
including the Capri PCGS Set Registry(SM) of Peace Dollars and the Mid-West
Collection of Type Coins. Two prominent proof Morgan Dollars from the famous
Excalibur Collection also were in the sale.
After the sale, ANA Executive Director Christopher Cipoletti stated: "This
was a first for the ANA and Teletrade, and the partnership worked well to the
benefit of buyers and sellers."
