TIAS Antique Dealer Requests The Antique Industry’s Assistance to Victims of Katrina All of America's hearts are with the South during this time of crisis. There were many, many wonderful, quaint antique shops throughout the south, now lost.
News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - During our last two visits to Louisiana and Mississippi we spent day after day driving the countryside, and gulf coast roads visiting as many shops as possible.
Of course while touring the area we experienced the warmth of the Southern people. We never met a soul from Louisiana or Mississippi that weren’t good to us.
We toured the bayous and swamps, under trees laden with spanish moss, and in awe of the gators.
We ate their wonderful foods, bread pudding, seafood, crabs, and of course cray-fish!
The music fills the air of every restaurant and bar. One can not sit still while listening to cajun music, at the least, your foot will be tapping! Marcia Ball! The Neville Brothers! The Radiators! on and on and on the music casts a spell! It energizes! It’s alive!
It’s so hard to believe that so many places we personally love in Louisiana and Mississippi have been damaged so severely.
We are encouraging antique dealers to raise money for any of the non-profit agencys by offering some special deal through their online or brick & mortar shops.
At “An American Antique Adventure” we are asking our customers to donate to the cause first. IF they have money then to purchase antiques from us, we will donate 10% of the purchase to the American Red Cross through 9/5. We’ll provide proof at buyers requests The offer may be repeated again 9/15.
