News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - Hampton, VA - Surrounded by colonial era communities such as Williamsburg and Yorktown, and known for historic properties, preservation and restoration, the Mid-Atlantic's newest upscale antiques event should be an ideal venue for the 2005 Hampton Antiques Show. Veteran antique promoters Events Management Group of Virginia Beach, VA and the Mariners’ Museum of Newport News, VA are launching this inaugural event October 7-9 in the new Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, VA.
A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit The Bronze Door Society in raising funds to attain new acquisitions for the Mariners’ Museum. A Gala Benefit Preview Party to benefit The Mariners' Museum of Newport News, VA will be held Thursday evening, October 6th from 6 to 9 PM featuring a cocktail buffet, music and appraisals. Guests will have an opportunity to obtain verbal appraisals, meet the dealers and purchase items before the show opens to the public Friday morning. Advance reservations are recommended. The Hampton Antiques Show includes over 80 high-quality antique dealers from across the country featuring 18th through 20th century American, European, and Asian furniture, as well as finely-appointed decorative arts in virtually every collectibles category. Experienced and knowledgeable dealers will showcase extensive collections of period furniture, silver, jewelry, porcelains, rugs, art glass, vintage textiles, original fine art, and ceramics. Nautical artifacts, antique prints and maps, lamps, primitives, books, and bronze sculptures will also be offered.
