News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - While space shuttle astronaut Steve Robinson is orbiting the earth in Discovery, he’s carrying the tools he used during his August 3 spacewalk in his favorite childhood lunch box. The metal lunch box pictures Tom Corbett, Space Cadet—a science fiction character featured in a 1950s TV series. Robinson takes the lunch box with him on every voyage. It was made in 1954 by Aladdin Industries.
The Tom Corbett, Space Cadet lunch box is listed in KOVELS’ ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES PRICE LIST 2005 for $350. We’re sure Robinson’s lunch box will be worth lots more after it returns to earth.
