Founded in 1857 by Jerome Bonaparte, the Maryland Club is one of the most stunning architectural venues in Baltimore, and remains a private club to this day. We’ll have cocktails and dinner in the beautiful Governor’s Room.

Baltimore Museum of Art
Private tour with Katherine Rothkopf, Curator of Painting and Sculpture, of The Cone Collection, the ground-breaking collection of 20th-century paintings and drawings, and with long-time BMA Senior Registrar Melanie Harwood. We’ll have plenty of time to view American Paintings & Decorative Arts, Modern and Contemporary, and Prints, Drawings and Photographs, as well as the special exhibition “Legacy of Lace: Selections from the Cone Collection.”

Lunch at Evergreen House
We’ll have an informal lunch at Evergreen House—in the lovely Far East Room—followed by a private tour of this exquisite 48-room house museum.

Evergreen House
Private tour of Evergreen located on 26 acres on North Charles Street and now part of Johns Hopkins University. This impressive Italianate building with classical revival additions is filled to overflowing with over 50,000 works of fine and decorative arts assembled by two generations of the Garrett family including rare theatrical sets by Leon Bakst inside Baltimore’s only private theatre.

Stiles Colwill’s Halcyon Farm
Visit to Halcyon Farm, Mr. Stiles Colwill’s 122-acre horse farm in Maryland's Greenspring Valley including a tour with Mr. Colwill of his superb collection of Maryland furniture, silver and paintings from America’s classical period, including Maryland painted furniture, Peale portraiture, and works by Benjamin West. We’ve been invited to stay for dinner.

Mount Vernon Place Early Morning Walking Tour
Outside the door of Peabody Court is lovely Mount Vernon Place, home to the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion, the George Peabody Library, The Peabody Institute, The Hotel Stafford (once home to F. Scott Fitzgerald!), as well as the Walters Art Museum. Also close by is the Enoch Pratt Library, the Maryland Historical Society, and two of Baltimore’s venerable churches—the First and Franklin Street Presbyterian Church and the Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church. We’ll enjoy a guided walking tour with prominent Baltimore architect and architectural historian Walter Schamu of SMG Architects.

Walters Art Museum
Private tour of the beautifully installed and extensive Asian collection in the Walters annexed townhouse galleries, which focus on the history of collecting as well. We’ll also tour through the museum’s highlights and have plenty of time on our own to explore.
