News-Antique.com - Nov 30,-0001 - ALEXANDRIA, VA - The Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Society (GTMS) is sponsoring its sixth annual Great Gadsby’s Antique Appraisal Affair on July 8, 9 & 10 at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, 134 North Royal Street in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria. This weekend event includes an opening reception, antique appraisal, and used book sale.
The opening reception for the weekend will be a Margarita Night at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum from 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, July 8. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. While enjoying the evening at this historic site, guests will have an opportunity to bid in a silent auction and meet the Antique Appraisers who will be featured at this year’s event.
The Antique Appraisal will enable the public to have personal items appraised by local experts who will provide informal, verbal assessments. Sessions will be held on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10 from 1 – 4 p.m. A ticket for the appraisal of one item is $5 with a limit of 5 items, each weighing less than 20 pounds. Observer tickets are $3. Reservations can be made by calling Gadsby’s Tavern Museum or by purchasing tickets online at www.gadsbystavern.org by clicking on ‘Shop.’ Although reservations are recommended, walk-ins are welcome as space permits.
Additionally, a “Books for the Beach” Used Book Sale will be held at Gadsby’s Tavern Museum on Friday, July 8 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and during Margarita Night. The sale continues on Saturday, July 9, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, July 10, from 1 – 4 p.m. Books, videos, games and DVD’s will be available.
The Gadsby’s Tavern Museum Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and preservation of Gadsby’s Tavern Museum.
